Columbia's 50 First Kisses
Waiting for the next romaintic comedy? Columbia is overseeing new production titled 50 First Kisses, reuniting Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
Fans waiting for the next awesome giggle-a-minute comedy yet heartfelt love story should take note! Columbia Pictures are currently overseeing a fabulous new production titled 50 First Kisses, which boasts the eagerly anticipated reunion between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore since The Wedding Singer.
50 First Kisses has been Sandler's baby for quite a while, with Barrymore only signing on recently after the consideration of both Cameron Diaz and even Julia Roberts in the running. Like many of his films, Sandler will be taking part in some of the screenwriting duties. However, more excitingly, director Jay Roach (who was at the helm of the Austin Powers films and Meet The Parents) was attached to the project before dropping out to another great comedy director Peter Segal (The Nutty Professor 2). Add Rob Schneider and Sean Astin on the casting bill for the project, and this looks like another hit for Sandler who just missed out on an oscar nomination for his awesome performance in Drunk Punch Love .
Filming has just kicked off on location in Hawaii as well as in Los Angeles and sounds just as fun as The Wedding Singer. Sandler plays Henry Roth, an aquarium vet who falls in love with a girl called Lucy (Barrymore) who suffers from memory loss. Due to her condition, Henry is tasked with the job to woo her every time they meet so Lucy will fall in love with him again; with his surfer friend Ula (Schneider) and Lucy's brother (Astin) along for the ride.
50 First Kisses seems mildly similar to the relationship combo and scenario between Bill Murray and Andie McDowell in Groundhog Dog when Murray was trapped in the same day and has to find ways to woo McDowell everyday. We're really looking forward to 50 First Kisses here at Kikizo, which is currently pencilled in for a worldwide release Q1 next year.
