Ben Affleck has dashed the hopes of Daredevil fans by ruling out an appearance as the blind superhero in the upcoming spin-off movie Elektra. Producers had wanted J Lo's ex to join Jennifer Garner on screen but after a few turbulent months and the critical mauling of the original movie Affleck turned down the opportunity.
The Oscar winner is currently readdressing his role in Hollywood and has indicated he may be willing to take smaller roles and play a bigger part behind the scenes. Despite winning critical acclaim for the Good Will Hunting screenplay times have been tough for the Hollywood superstar, he suffered box office flops and even was dropped as the face of the Tom Clancy series after one appearance.
While most fans won't be too sad to see the back of Daredevil it will be interesting to see what Affleck's future holds. It would be a shame to see him turn his back on Hollywood but after the past year who could blame him?
