Superman Doubt After McG Bows Out
Filmmaker feels it was inappropriate to try and capture the heart of America on another continent, apparently.
The ongoing saga with the upcoming Superman movie looks set to continue after scheduled director McG withdrew from the project. The film has already one through script changes and staff withdrawals but everything looked to be back on course when the Charlie Angels director, Joseph McGinty Nicol, signed up for the movie.
McG appears to have withdrawn due to budgetary considerations, the movie was originally scheduled to be filmed in NYC but producers wanted to move locations in order to keep the costs down. The filmmaker was quoted as saying "I felt it was inappropriate to try and capture the heart of America on another continent."
The film has long been the subject of numerous discussions especially in light of the 'Curse of Superman', it seems that this latest chapter in the long-running story looks set to keep those rumours going. The movie which is scheduled for release in 2006 now lies helmless and few actors seem willing to put on the famous red cape.
