The Hobbit - Sooner Rather Than Later?
Good news for Tolkein fans emerged this morning as speculation that Time Warner will mount a bid for MGM increases.
It looks like we might see The Hobbit on the big screen sooner rather than later if the rumours emanating from Hollywood are to be believed. There is mounting speculation that Time Warner will mount a bid for MGM which would mean that the company will hold all the rights for the classic book.
Peter Jackson has previously spoken of his hopes for the project and after the success of the LOTR trilogy movie bosses will be keen to bring it to the big screen. Hollywood's favourite director is currently filming King Kong which is scheduled for release next year, but should be free to take charge of any project thereafter should an MGM takeover be completed by Time Warner.
