John Steinbeck's classic book is said to be getting the Hollywood treatment.
John Steinbeck's classic book East of Eden is said to be getting the Hollywood treatment with Ron Howard scheduled to direct, there has been a lot of talk about the project lately with Brad Pitt rumoured to appear. This is not the first time that Steinbeck's effort will have appeared on the big screen; the original 1955 film starred James Dean.
The book is one of Steinbeck's finest pieces and tells the tale of a family over the course of three generations in their hardships and triumphs. The is no word yet as to when the film is meant to be going into production, Howard is currently hard at work with the Da Vinci Code and Cinderella Man so it may not appear until 2006.
