War of the Worlds: Priciest Film Ever?
Spielberg and Cruise in the HG Wells epic.
Having postponed Mission: Impossible 3 to star in the new Steven Spielberg project, War of the Worlds, it seems that Tom Cruise and the acclaimed director are about to embark on the most expensive film ever made. H.G. Well's classic story is set to get the Hollywood treatment and apparently no expense will be spared, so expect a summer spectacular when it is released.
Several British newspapers are responsible for the reports which claim that the film's budget will be bigger than any film released before even heavyweights like Titanic. Despite the hefty bills that will have to be paid, Crusie and Spielberg could be in line for a bumper bonus as it is rumoured that they will receive a percentage of the profits should their adaptation prove to be a success.
