Metroid Prime Movie in Doubt
Yoshio Sakamoto discusses film status.
Despite previous news linking John Woo to a big screen Metroid Prime adaptation, the rumours surrounding the planned Nintendo project have been somewhat dampened of late. In a recent interview with Nintendo Dream magazine Yoshio Sakamoto said that despite the fact Woo had optioned the movie rights, there are no plans on the horizon for it to go into production any time soon.
It looks like gamers are going to have pulled all their hair out by the time the project finally comes around, if at all! Sakamoto seemed to completely downplay the chances of Metroid Prime hitting cinemas across the globe. He said 'the company that John Woo works for has gained the rights to negotiate with Nintendo of America to make Metroid into a movie. Metroid's production hasn't been officially decided yet, and there's no release plans for it.'
