Tommy Cooper Flick in Production
Jerome Flynn reportedly in lead role.
British cinema-goers will be pleased to hear that a big budget biopic of Tommy Cooper has just gone into production with Jerome Flynn in the lead role. Tom Hanks had hoped to get the part but he's just after missing out, insiders weren't too surprised because he doesn't bear much physical resemblance to the famous comedian.
Flynn hasn't been seen on the big screen since Best when he played the legendary Manchester United forward George Best. In light of this, one wonders as to whether Hanks really was after the part or whether the filmmakers are hoping his being linked to the role will bolster the project's awareness.
