Hanks Cracks The Da Vinci Code
Working with Ron Howard again, it seems.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hanks is in line to land the lead role in the movie adaptation of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. Ron Howard is set to helm the project, thus sparking a reunion of sorts with Hanks as it will be their first joint venture since Apollo 13.
The Da Vinci Code is the best selling adult fiction novel ever, and Howard was coy on Hank's link with the project as he said 'We probably don't need his status from a box-office standpoint, but he gives Langdon (the book's main character) instant legitimacy.'
The role of Professor Robert Langdon is said to be the most coveted part in Hollywood at the moment. Should Hanks land the role, it would go some way at quietening his critics who have been murmuring that the superstar is in need of a hit.
